Cape Coral Yacht Club Beach

Just minutes from Villa Del Rio you will find the Cape Coral Yacht Club Beach.In addition to the Yacht Club public beach, visitors to the Yacht Club Community Park can enjoy a covered playground with equipment for children ages 2-12 that can accommodate persons with disabilities, as well as picnic tables and BBQ grills, the adjacent Yacht Club Pier, a public boat ramp and free vehicle parking (their is a small fee for boat trailers). 

The popular "Sunset Celebrations"  takes place the first Wednesday of every month and features 40-50 local arts & crafts vendors, live music and gorgeous SW Florida sunsets over the water. You can also grab a coffee or cold beer at the Boathouse Tiki & Grill.

 

 

Kayak Fishing & Eco Tours

Gulf Coast Kayak offers a variety of Kayak tours and kayak fishing adventures and we highly recommend you go on one of these tours for a great adventure and see some of the local wild life including manatees, dolphins, sea eagles & lots more. Edision & Ford Winter Estates

Thomas Edison brought his family to this Victorian retreat -- they called it Seminole Lodge -- in 1886 and wintered here until his death, in 1931. Mrs. Edison gave the 14-acre estate to the city of Fort Myers in 1947, and today it's a historic attraction. Costumed actors portraying the Edisons, the Fords, and their friends, such as Harvey S. Firestone, give living-history accounts of how the wealthy lived in those days. Spectacular, particularly in November & December when the houses are decorated for Christmas.

Sanibel & Captiva Beaches

Sanibel & Captiva are two of the unique barrier islands of the world, having an east-west orientation when most islands are north-south. Hence, the island is gifted with great sandy beaches and an abundance of shells.

Ft Myers Beach

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre is now celebrating its 21st Thrilling Season. The theatre entertains over 170,000 guests annually. The facility includes a 450-seat dinner theatre, a 100-seat "black-box" theatre called The Off Broadway Palm Theatre, a 120 seat dining room called Café Cabaret and a 30-seat space just off the main lobby called, The Art Café.

Ft Myers Art Walk

On the First Friday of each month from 6-10 p.m. over ten art galleries invite locals and visitors to a self-guided walking tour throughout the Downtown Fort Myers River District core and the Gardner's Park area.  Art enthusiasts can "Meet the Artists" at most of the art galleries and enjoy the live art demonstrations throughout the River District! 

Ft Myers Music Walk

The River District comes alive every month with live music on 3rd Friday in the downtown Fort Myers River District. Over a dozen participating venues feature music by local and regional talent. Bike Rental - Hollywood Bikes

The Cape is a great place to bike. We do provide two bikes with your rental of Villa Del Rio. However sometimes guests may require more than two bikes. Additional bikes can be rented at Hollywood Bike Shop on Santa Barbara.
